class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) is a semi-autonomous investment promotion and facilitation organisation to promote and facilitate investment projects, provide serviced land, and advocate for a competitive business environment. UIA works with the Government and the private sector to promote the economic growth of Uganda through investment and infrastructure development.<\/p>\n<p><gwmw style=\"display:none;\"><\/gwmw><\/p>\n<p><gwmw style=\"display:none;\"><\/gwmw><\/p>\n<gwmw style=\"display:none;\"><\/gwmw>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-15c482e9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"15c482e9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">UIA needed a system that would have all their activities consolidated into a single financial management system so that they can extract consolidated financial report for the institution at large.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7de1edda elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7de1edda\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">The Problem<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6af917e9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6af917e9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>UIA was initially using a government finance management system to run the institution. However, this system only manages funds from one source &#8211; government and yet UIA has several other funders and partners. There <em>was a need for a system that will manage funds from several funders and partners.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Their current system only managed operations from budgeting to Payment. Its emphasis was on the budgeting from the funding source- government , requisitions- internal commitments, order- external commitments to invoicing and finally execution of payment. There was no revenue management and so <em>UIA needed a system that would manage their different streams of revenue.<\/em> The system also works using the cash basis method of accounting as opposed to the public sector that require a hybrid of cash and accrual accounting methods. So <em>UIA needed a system that would cater for the accrual method of accounting as well.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">UIA needed a system that would have all their activities <em>consolidated into a single financial <\/em>management system so that they can extract consolidated financial report for the institution at large.
